No pics as of this time but will surely post some as soon as I get my hands on this yummy concoction from this lively town of Jagna.
Jagna is Calamay Country! No doubt about that. Calamay is a sweet delicacy made of sticky rice (or malagkit) and dark muscovado sugar bottled in cocoshells that are cleaned till they resemble small balls and lined across with red-colored paper to seal the yummy stuff inside.
If you buy them at Jagna, right in front of their newly-built market, they come cheap at 25 pesos at the least. Vendors can't be missed as they haul baskets of these sweet delicacies as soon as your car/bus/van comes to a stop in these area. They come in different sizes, small, medium, large and also in varieties of plain or with peanuts. I suggest the plain variety...yummY! I can't wait for my next calamay pig-out.
So when you go for a country-side tour of Bohol, make sure you buy these sweet delicacy you'll find nowhere else!
